Why 800 € for one villa and 2,400 € for another?

• Cabling. Four cameras on one façade with the recorder nearby are quick to install; four cameras spread across a large plot, with new trenches or conduit, are not.
• Existing conduit. If the villa already has empty ducts or old cameras, we reuse the route and labour drops.
• Height and access. Cameras above 4 metres or in hard-to-reach spots add time.
• Camera type. Colour night vision, motorised zoom or people/vehicle detection cost more than a basic fixed camera.
• Recorder and disk. A 4-channel recorder with a 1 TB surveillance disk is the usual setup; more days of footage means a bigger disk.

What does the quote include?

Our quotes are itemised: cameras, recorder, disk, cabling, labour and setting up the app on your phone. No surprises at the end. Buy the equipment in our online shop and the installation gets a 10 % discount on the quote for 6 months.

Is there anything to pay monthly?

No. Dahua and Hikvision cameras record locally, on the recorder in your home. Cloud is optional. A monthly fee only makes sense if you want monitoring by a private security company, which is not what we do.

What can a villa camera not record?

The street and the neighbour's property. The Spanish data protection agency (AEPD) sets it out in its video-surveillance guide: cameras installed for security purposes cannot capture the public road beyond the minimum strictly necessary, and a visible "video-surveilled area" sign is required at the entrances.

So we aim every camera at your plot, switch on privacy masks where needed and put the sign where it can be seen: part of the install, not an extra. The long version is in can my camera record the street?

Is an alarm worth adding?

Cameras record; alarms alert. At a villa the usual combination is outdoor cameras plus an Ajax alarm with no monthly fee, which alerts your phone and can trigger sirens. Quoted together or separately.

CCTV for a villa in Estepona or Sotogrande: what to fit and who installs it

A villa is quoted the same way as any other house, but it has more plot and more ways in. This is what changes when the project is a villa in Estepona or Sotogrande.

How many cameras does a villa need, and where do they go?

In a villa you do not count cameras by square metres but by ways in and routes through. A plot with a garden, a pool and several doors has more entry points than a flat, and most of them are settled by looking at the plan:

• The vehicle entrance, which is how people arrive and how they leave carrying things.
• The front door and the service or kitchen door, which is often tucked away behind the house.
• The way through to the pool and the back of the plot, usually the quietest spot for someone who should not be there.
• The blind spot: the side with planting, the low wall, the basement window.

The exact number comes from the plan and the photos, not from a table. That is why we do not give you a number over the phone: we tell you what each camera sees and why it sits where it does, and you decide how far the project goes.

Can a finished villa be cabled without opening walls?

Nearly always, yes. The cameras we install are IP cameras powered over the network cable itself (PoE): one cable per camera, with no socket needed where the camera goes. In a finished villa that is solved through the false ceiling, the service duct or clean outdoor trunking, and in many houses the shortest run goes through the garage or the plant room.

When there is a separate building — guest house, garage at the end of the plot, pool house — and no cable can be pulled, a wireless link between the two buildings replaces digging a trench. That, and the route of every cable, is exactly what the technical visit is for: a professional visit, quoted in advance and deducted if you award us the work.

How do I watch the villa from my phone while I am abroad?

The cameras record to a recorder that stays in the villa, and you log in from the manufacturer's app on your phone or tablet, wherever you are. You do not need to pay for a cloud to view the cameras or to review what was recorded: the equipment is yours and the footage is in your house.

And the honest part, worth knowing before you buy: watching the villa remotely depends on the villa having internet and on the power being on. A villa left empty for half the year needs that line contracted and live; for a power cut a small UPS can keep the router and the recorder running for a while, and that is quoted separately. If your connection is weak or unstable, we say so before installing, not afterwards.

Do you cover Sotogrande, which is already in Cádiz?

Yes. The service area we publish on installation is Málaga and the Costa del Sol, from Nerja to Sotogrande: Sotogrande and Manilva sit at the western end of that strip, and Estepona is also named in the local installation area declared in our shop. In Estepona we work in the old town, the beach area and the Cancelada, El Paraíso, Atalaya and Selwo urbanisations; westwards, in Manilva, Sabinillas, Puerto de la Duquesa and Sotogrande.

And when the villa sits empty for half the year?

A camera on its own is not enough there: a camera records, but it wakes nobody up. What raises the alarm is the alarm itself, and in a seasonal villa the combination that makes sense is an Ajax alarm with alerts to your phone plus the cameras on the same system, so that when a detector trips you can look at the image right then. The photo detector — Ajax Motion Detector with HDR Camera White — sends a picture of whatever set the alarm off, which is what actually tells you whether to call anyone.

That alarm is not connected to a monitoring centre: it alerts you, and whoever you choose. If one day you want that service, it is contracted separately with a registered private security company; we do not provide it.
