What does Dartel install in Málaga?
Dartel Solutions sells and installs Ajax alarms and cameras with no monthly fee, IP video door entry, access control and WiFi networks in Málaga city, from its base in Rincón de la Victoria. The usual starting point in a flat is the Ajax professional alarm kit, and when you want to see what set it off before you move, the Ajax motion detector with camera. Phone and WhatsApp: +34 672 81 57 89.
- Ajax alarms with no monthly fee. Wireless, fitted without building work, and the equipment becomes yours. Alerts to your phone, no lock-in.
- Security cameras and CCTV. Ajax cameras, integrated with the alarm in the same app. Placed where they are useful, with the recording protected and the retention days set.
- Video door entry and access control. See and open from your phone, with separate access for each person and a log of who opened.
- Networks and WiFi. The foundation everything else runs on: if the network cannot cope, the cameras drop out. It is checked before anything is installed.
What does an alarm kit for a flat in Málaga include?
Four pieces, and none is optional: the control panel, a motion detector for each area people must pass through, a magnetic contact on the door and on each accessible window or balcony, and a siren. From there we add whatever your home needs: a camera, a glass-break detector, a remote or a detector with a photo.
The question we are asked most in the city is literally that: what is in the kit. A basic set-up for a flat has four pieces and none is optional: the panel, which is the brain and sends the alert; a motion detector for each area people must pass through —usually the hallway and the living room—; a magnetic contact on the front door and on any accessible window or balcony; and a siren, ideally one inside and one outside. From there we add whatever your home needs: an indoor camera, a glass-break detector, a remote or key fob, or a detector with a photo so you can see what set the alarm off before you move from wherever you are.
The mistake we see most often in flats already fitted by others is one of placement, not equipment: detectors put in front of a window with direct sun, in front of a radiator or at the wrong height, which is exactly what causes false alarms until the owner gets fed up and stops arming the system. In a home with a dog you have to choose the right detector and adjust the height; it can be done, but it has to be done. Kits and individual parts are in the shop, and you can buy them and hire us only for the fitting.
What changes depending on which part of Málaga you live in?
The building. In the old town, Soho and La Malagueta, wireless equipment and coverage through thick walls are what matter; in Pedregalejo, El Palo and El Limonar there is outdoor space to protect; in Teatinos, Churriana and Puerto de la Torre the home is coordinated with the community of owners; and in Carretera de Cádiz and Cruz de Humilladero it is worth checking for congested WiFi before fitting cameras that depend on it.
For installation purposes, Málaga city is not a single city, and the quote reflects that.
In the old town, Soho and La Malagueta the building is usually old, with thick walls, inner courtyards and, in many cases, a protected façade: you cannot hang just anything on the outside or run cable wherever suits you. There, wireless stops being a convenience and becomes the only reasonable option; and coverage between rooms has to be measured, because a load-bearing wall in a building from 1900 swallows a signal that is more than enough in a new flat.
In Pedregalejo, El Palo and El Limonar you find low-rise houses, patios and small gardens: there is already an outdoor area to protect, and it is worth looking at the fence and the back entrance, not just the door.
In Teatinos, Churriana, Campanillas and Puerto de la Torre the housing is usually newer, with townhouses and urbanisations with shared areas; the building causes no problems, and the work is about coordinating the home with the community so as not to duplicate anything.
And in Carretera de Cádiz and Cruz de Humilladero, dense blocks: the same applies as in any flat —door, low terrace, light well and storage room—, with the particularity that the WiFi is very congested and it is worth checking it before fitting cameras that depend on it.
A connected alarm and monitored surveillance are not the same thing
In Málaga city we get a lot of searches for “alarm connected to a receiving centre”, and it deserves an honest answer, because the two things are advertised together and are not the same.
A connected alarm is the one we install: the system has an internet connection and mobile data as a backup, and when it goes off, the alert goes out —to your phone and to the phones of the people you put on the list—. It works even if the power or the line is cut, and you can watch live and decide.
Monitored surveillance is something else: an operator receives that alert, verifies it and calls the police on your behalf. In Spain that is an activity reserved by Law 5/2014 on Private Security and can only be provided by a company registered in the National Private Security Register. Dartel is not one, and therefore neither provides nor resells that service. We tell you here so that you do not discover the distinction after signing. If it is exactly what you need, you will have to contract it with a registered company; we do not provide the service.
One point that almost nobody explains and that is worth knowing before you compare quotes: the regulations themselves forbid an alarm from alerting the police directly, and require the signal to be verified before it is passed on. That is why, when someone advertises “police alert”, what they are always selling you is the service of a private security company behind it. As for the technical requirement, systems are classified by grade: a private home that you fit by your own choice is covered by grade 1 or 2, whereas premises that the regulations oblige to have an alarm need a higher grade and a connection. If yours is the second case, we will tell you on the first visit.
How many home burglaries are reported in the province of Málaga?
According to the Ministry of the Interior’s crime statistics (Balance de Criminalidad, January to December 2025, as reported by Málaga Actualidad and Andalucía Información), 2,408 burglaries with forced entry into homes were reported in Málaga province in 2025, down from 3,163 in 2024: 23.9% fewer. Across Spain they fell from 81,094 to 74,353 (−8.3%). These are reported crimes, not every crime that happened, and 2,408 a year is still more than six homes a day in the province. It is a provincial figure: it puts the risk in perspective, but it does not decide what your home in Málaga needs, which is decided by looking at where people really get in.
Can I have an alarm in Málaga with no monthly fee?
Yes: you can have an alarm in Málaga without paying a monthly fee, and that is what Dartel Solutions installs. It is the question we get most and it is worth being precise. The Ajax alarms we install are bought: the equipment is yours from day one, like an appliance. There is no compulsory monthly fee, no lock-in and no penalty for leaving. The alerts reach your phone —and the phones of whoever you add— through the manufacturer’s app, and we charge nothing for that.
That is different from the model you will have seen advertised at so much a month: there the equipment usually stays the company’s and what you pay for is the connection to a centre that only a registered private security company may provide, which is not our case. They are two different things and both are legitimate; what is not legitimate is mixing them in the same advert. We do the first one.
What we do not do, said before you ask. Dartel Solutions is not a private security company registered in the National Private Security Register, and we do not pretend to be. We sell, install and maintain the equipment. Monitored surveillance —where an operator receives the alert and calls the police on your behalf— is a regulated activity that only a registered company may provide: we neither provide nor resell it. If your case needs it, we tell you on the first visit instead of selling you something else.
How we work, step by step
- You write to us and tell us what you want to protect. By WhatsApp or by phone. With four photos and a description we can already start to advise.
- We come and see it. No obligation. We measure, look at where people really get in and check the network coverage, which is what decides whether the cameras will hold up.
- We send you an itemised quote. Equipment on one side and labour on the other, with a plan of what each camera sees. No hidden fees and no lock-in.
- Clear timings. A normal home installation is done in a day; if cable has to be run or several buildings are involved, we tell you before, not after.
- We leave it explained and working. The app on your phone and on the phone of whoever you choose, tested in front of you. And we stay reachable afterwards: the phone number is the same.
How much does it cost to install an alarm in Málaga?
Dartel Solutions does not publish the price of an installation in Málaga on this page, and that is deliberate. Two installations that look the same do not cost the same: the number of openings to protect changes, whether cable has to be run or everything is wireless, the height a camera has to go up to and whether the network holds up or has to be reinforced first. A shop-window price would be given today and corrected on the visit, which is exactly what we do not want to do.
What we can tell you in advance is what it depends on, with the items broken down, in the guide to what an alarm installation costs. And if you prefer to see equipment and product prices before talking to anyone, it is all in the shop: you can buy it yourself and hire us only for the fitting.

Málaga FAQs
Do you install in Málaga city?
Yes, throughout the city and its surroundings: old town, Soho, La Malagueta, El Limonar, Pedregalejo, El Palo, Teatinos, Ciudad Jardín, Cruz de Humilladero, Carretera de Cádiz, Churriana, Campanillas and Puerto de la Torre. Our base is in Rincón de la Victoria, on the outskirts.
Are there alarms with no monthly fee in Málaga?
Yes, and that is what we install. Ajax alarms are bought: the equipment is yours, there is no compulsory fee or lock-in, and the alerts reach your phone through the manufacturer’s app at no extra cost from us. What it does not include is monitored surveillance, which can only be provided by a registered private security company.
What exactly does the alarm kit include?
As a minimum: a panel, motion detectors in the areas people pass through, magnetic contacts on the door and the accessible windows, and a siren. From there we add according to the home: a camera, a glass-break detector, a remote, or a detector with a photo to see what set it off. The kits are in the shop and you can buy them and hire us only for the installation.
Where do the motion sensors go so that they do not give false alarms?
In the areas people have to pass through —hallway and living room—, at the right height, and never in front of a window with direct sun, a radiator or the air conditioning: that is what causes most unwarranted alarms. If there is a dog at home, we choose a detector designed for that and adjust the height and angle. It is half an hour’s work that saves months of a disarmed system.
I live in an old building in the centre. Can it be installed without building work?
Yes, and it is the case wireless equipment suits best: there is no need to chase walls or run conduit, so there is no problem with façade protection or with the community of owners either. The only thing we do check beforehand is the coverage between rooms, because the thick walls of old buildings attenuate the signal more than people expect.
Can the alarm be connected to a receiving centre so that they alert the police?
That service —receiving the alert, verifying it and calling the police on your behalf— is a regulated activity that only a registered private security company provides in the National Register. We are not one and we do not sell it. What we do is install a system that alerts your phone reliably, with mobile data as a backup in case the internet or the power is cut.
And for a business of the kind that the law requires to have security measures?
The Private Security Regulations (Royal Decree 2364/1994) oblige certain establishments —credit institutions, jewellers, petrol stations and gaming venues, among others— to have specific, connected measures. That installation is a reserved activity and has to be carried out by a company registered in the National Private Security Register: we are not that company and we tell you before you waste time. What we do, and it is open to any installer, is everything your business fits by its own decision: CCTV, networks and access control. If you are unsure which group your premises fall into, check with the Territorial Private Security Unit of the National Police before hiring anyone, ourselves included.
Do you sell the equipment or only install?
Both. You can buy in our shop and hire us only for the fitting, or have us do the whole job.
