What it is and what it does
This is a kit with visual verification that includes the Hub 2, a MotionCam (motion detector with camera), a MotionProtect (motion detector) and a remote. The hub alerts over Ethernet and two GPRS SIMs, three paths. It adds a backup battery, an anti-opening tamper and detection of attempts to jam the radio, which runs at 868 MHz with Jeweller and Wings, up to 2,000 m in open space. It is Grade 2.

We fit it when the customer has already had a scare and wants an alarm that is hard to silence, in a house, a villa or premises with dark tones. If you also want a keypad and siren in the box, the step up is the Ajax Hub 2 extended alarm kit, black; with 4G, the Ajax Hub 2 4G alarm kit with MotionCam HDR.
How we install it
The hub goes indoors on its SmartBracket; the rear tamper means it must really be screwed to the wall. It has mains power nearby, the network socket if a cable is used and the two SIMs with the PIN disabled. The two detectors are hung at the height Ajax specifies, across the route people must take and not facing windows or radiators. Everything is added by QR code and we finish with the zone and signal tests.

Which of the two detectors sends photos?
The MotionCam, which has a camera and lets you see what set the alarm off. The MotionProtect detects motion without an image and covers a second route through the home.
What happens if the power goes off or the line is cut?
The hub has a backup battery and three communication paths, cable and two SIMs. With a power cut or a line cut, the system keeps alerting your phone.
