What it is and what it does
This is the kit most homes start with when they go for Ajax. It has four pieces: the Hub, a MotionProtect motion detector, a DoorProtect magnetic contact and a SpaceControl remote. The hub talks to the detectors over 868 MHz radio with the Jeweller protocol and to you over Ethernet and GPRS. It is Grade 2 and accepts up to 100 wireless devices, so it can be extended later.

How we install it
The Hub goes inside the home, screwed to its SmartBracket mount, which has a rear tamper and warns you if it is torn off. It needs mains power nearby and the network socket if a cable is used; the SIM goes in with the PIN disabled. The detectors are hung at the height Ajax specifies, across the route people must take and not facing windows or radiators. Everything is added by QR code from the app and we finish with the zone test and the signal test.

Does it alert you if someone tries to tear the hub off the wall?
Yes. The Hub sits on its SmartBracket mount, which has a rear tamper: as soon as it is detached from the mount, the system reports it to your phone and to whoever you indicate.
Is the system operated only from the phone?
Not only: it is managed with the phone app and also with PC software, which is convenient when you have to review a system with many devices.
