Transmitter module

Small battery-powered transmitter that turns a wired detector you already have into an Ajax device, without opening walls or changing cables

What it is and what it does

The Transmitter picks up the signal from a wired detector and sends it over 868 MHz Jeweller radio to the Ajax hub. It has one alarm input and one tamper input, both configurable as normally open or normally closed, and a 3 V output to power the detector. It reaches up to 1600 m in open space, detects if someone tries to jam the radio, and its accelerometer tamper warns you if it is moved. It runs on three CR123A batteries.

Who Dartel installs it for

It is for houses and premises with a wired detector that works well and is not worth replacing, for example a door contact. It is added to an Ajax alarm that we install ourselves. It is the unit for a single detector; if you have several cables to reuse, the right unit is the MultiTransmitter.

How we install it

We fix it next to the wired detector and connect its output to the Transmitter's alarm input, configured in the appropriate state. We add it by QR code in the app, check the signal with the hub and test that the detector alerts on opening and closing. With the cover on, we also verify that the tamper responds.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to change the detector I already have?

No, as long as it has an alarm output that can be read as normally open or closed. We check it on the visit and, if something does not fit, we tell you before fitting it.

Is it hidden in a wall or in view?

It measures 100 by 39 by 22 mm and is placed next to the detector. It has an accelerometer tamper, so it is best left fixed in a place that is accessible for changing the batteries.

Would you like us to install it?

Tell us what kind of home or premises it is and we will say what you need and what you don't. For a flat or a shop with no building work, your floor plan and four photos are enough.
