vhfBridge module

Module for installers that links Ajax with a third-party VHF transmitter through eight relay outputs, for very specific cases

What it is and what it does

The vhfBridge is an integration module. It connects an Ajax system to a third-party VHF transmitter that has relay inputs, through up to eight high or low potential outputs, pulse or bistable. It talks to the hub over 868 MHz Jeweller radio, up to 1800 metres, and is compatible with Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus, Hub Hybrid, ReX and ReX 2. It is not compatible with photo verification. It is mains powered, with a 12 V battery that is not included.

Who Dartel installs it for

It is a unit for specific cases, and in a home you normally do not need it. It only makes sense in installations that already have a third-party VHF transmitter and do not want to remove it. It is added to an Ajax alarm that we install ourselves. If you do not have that radio, you can ignore this module.

How we install it

We fix it indoors near a socket, away from metal cabinets. We connect its outputs to the relay inputs of the existing VHF transmitter, add it by QR code in the app and check the signal. We fit the 12 V backup battery, which is bought separately, and test each configured output.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need this module for my home alarm?

Almost certainly not. It is a module for installations that already have a VHF transmitter and want to keep it. If that is not your case, it is not needed and we tell you so in the proposal.

Does it work with the detectors' photos?

No. The data sheet states that it is not compatible with alarm photo verification. The photos will keep reaching your app as usual, but not through this module.

Would you like us to install it?

Tell us what kind of home or premises it is and we will say what you need and what you don't. For a flat or a shop with no building work, your floor plan and four photos are enough.
