uartBridge module

Module for installers that integrates up to 85 Ajax devices into a home automation controller through a UART serial port

What it is and what it does

The uartBridge is an integration module that lets a third-party home automation controller talk to Ajax devices over a UART serial port. It accepts up to 85 Ajax devices, which communicate with it over 868 MHz Jeweller radio, up to 2 km in open space. It is powered by 5 V DC and is very compact, at 64 by 55 by 13 mm. It works indoors only and between -10 and 40 degrees.

Who Dartel installs it for

It is a unit for specific cases, and in a home you normally do not need it. We reserve it for installations that already have a programmable home automation controller and want it to receive the events from Ajax detectors without replacing it. It is added to an Ajax alarm that we install ourselves. In a home without that kind of home automation it is not needed.

How we install it

We fix it indoors next to the home automation controller, away from metal cabinets and with a 5 V supply. We connect its UART serial port to the controller, add it by QR code in the Ajax app and associate the devices it has to integrate. We check the signal of each one and that the home automation controller receives their events.

Frequently asked questions

Is it the same as connecting the alarm to my phone?

No. The Ajax alarm already alerts your phone by itself. This module is only for a third-party home automation controller to receive the events from Ajax devices.

How many devices can I integrate?

Up to 85 Ajax devices. In a normal home that is far more than enough, so the figure matters mainly in large installations with many detectors.

Would you like us to install it?

Tell us what kind of home or premises it is and we will say what you need and what you don't. For a flat or a shop with no building work, your floor plan and four photos are enough.
