What it is and what it does
The black DomeCam Mini 8 MP is a compact outdoor dome with 8 megapixels (3840×2160) and a 2.8 mm lens, with a view of 100° to 110°. Its infrared reaches 15 m and it has True WDR/HDR for backlit scenes. It takes microSD cards of up to 256 GB and is powered by PoE over a network cable. It records at up to 20 frames per second at most.
Who Dartel installs it for
It is for enclosed or semi-open spaces, such as an entrance hall, a garage or a covered terrace, on dark ceilings or eaves. It is not for the far end of a large plot: for that there are the 50 m turret cameras. If you want white light at night, look at the black DomeCam Mini 8 MP Dual Light; for more reach, the 4 mm model.
How we install it
A PoE network cable runs from the recorder or the switch to the camera, which powers it and carries the video. We fix it to the ceiling or the eaves at a height that shows the face but is out of reach, avoiding direct sun. We add it by reading its QR code in the app and check the framing before we consider the installation finished.

Frequently asked questions
Does it need a recorder?
It needs somewhere to store the video: the recorder, or the camera's own microSD card of up to 256 GB. With several cameras we recommend the recorder, so that all the recordings are kept together.
Does it cover a garden?
It is not ideal: its infrared reaches 15 m. It works well in an entrance hall, a garage or a covered terrace. For a large garden we suggest 50 m turret cameras, which see further.
