What it is and what it does
The black FireProtect 2 RB is a heat detector, not a smoke one. It alerts on a rapid rise in temperature and when the +64 °C threshold is exceeded. It has its own 85 dB siren, works linked to the panel or as a standalone detector, and uses two CR123A batteries that the user can change. Its radio range reaches 1700 m in open space.
Who Dartel installs it for
We install it in kitchens, garages, storage rooms or plant rooms, where a smoke detector would tend to go off for no reason and heat is the reliable signal. The letters RB mean replaceable battery; if you prefer a sealed battery, look at the FireProtect 2 SB, white. It is an indoor detector, in black, for dark ceilings or walls.
How we install it
We place it on the ceiling of the space to be protected, indoors and with no building work. We add it by reading its QR code in the app, assign it to its group and check the signal from the exact spot. We place it away from windows and radiators. Before leaving we test the siren with the Test button and show you how to silence it from the app.

Can it replace a smoke detector?
No. This model measures temperature, not smoke. It is the right one where ordinary smoke would confuse a smoke detector, and it is complemented by a smoke detector in the rest of the home.
Does it work with any Ajax panel?
It is compatible with Hub Plus, Hub 2 (2G and 4G), Hub 2 Plus, Hub Hybrid (2G and 4G), ReX and ReX 2. If you already have a panel, we check it before proposing the detector.
