LightCore Dimmer dimmable light switch: raises and lowers the brightness from the app or by hand, without a neutral wire
What it is and what it does
The LightCore Dimmer is a module that goes behind the light switch and lets you raise and lower the brightness from the app or by bringing your hand close to the touch panel. It works at 230 V, needs no neutral wire and communicates with the hub over 868 MHz Jeweller radio. It is a dimmer, so it requires dimmable lamps: with a lamp that is not dimmable, the light will not respond properly.
Who Dartel installs it for
We fit it for customers who want a soft light in the living room, the bedroom or a room used in different ways, without changing the look of the switch. If you want the same module in the vertical frame format, there is the LightCore Dimmer vertical. To switch on and off without dimming, look at the LightCore 2G2W. It can be added to any Ajax alarm that we install.
How we install it
It goes inside the existing switch box, behind the switch, with the power cut, work that we do ourselves. Before fitting it we check which lamps the light point has and whether they are dimmable. Then we add it by reading its QR code in the app, assign it to your hub, test dimming from the app and from the touch panel, and check the signal.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work with any bulb?
No: only with dimmable lamps. If yours are not, we tell you before fitting it and suggest replacing them, or a non-dimming switch for that light point.
Is a neutral wire needed?
No. That is exactly what is often missing in older houses, and this module does not need it. We still check it in the switch box before suggesting anything.
