MotionProtect motion detector, black
Indoor motion detector in black: the same 12 m PIR and the same pet immunity, for dark joinery and walls.
What it is and what it does
The black MotionProtect watches a whole room with a volumetric PIR sensor: a 24-zone, 6-plane lens, 12 m range and 88.5° horizontally by 80° vertically. It is Grade 2 and lets pets up to 20 kg and 50 cm pass. It communicates by Jeweller radio at 868 MHz, with up to 1700 m in open space, and runs on a CR123A battery. It measures 110 by 65 by 50 mm, in ABS plastic, and in a corner it is barely noticeable.
Who Dartel installs it for
It is the finish we recommend in homes and shops with doors, windows or walls in dark tones or wood, where a white detector would mark the corner. With light walls the white MotionProtect is better, identical in performance. If you need dual technology for a place with false alarms, the MotionProtect Plus, black; if you want to see what set it off, the MotionCam HDR, black.
How we install it
We fix it to its mount at the height Ajax specifies, 2.4 m, in a corner that looks at the unavoidable route from one side. We avoid windows, radiators and heaters in its field of view. We add it with the QR code from the app, put it in the right arming group and check the detection zone by walking the room, and the signal strength.

Frequently asked questions
How far does the signal reach the panel?
Up to 1700 m in open space according to its datasheet. Inside a home it drops, with walls and floor slabs, which is why we measure the signal of each detector before closing the installation.
Can its sensitivity be adjusted?
Yes, it has three levels: low, medium and high. They are changed from the app, without touching the detector. We usually start at medium and raise or lower it depending on what we see in the tests.
