Indoor motion detector in white: covers a whole room, ignores pets up to 20 kg and runs on a single battery.
What it is and what it does
The MotionProtect is the basic indoor motion detector in the Ajax range. It reads the heat of whoever moves with a volumetric PIR sensor and a 24-zone, 6-plane lens, and covers 12 m with 88.5° horizontally. A pet up to 20 kg and 50 cm tall does not set it off, and its sensitivity is adjusted in three levels from the app. It talks to the panel by Jeweller radio and runs on a single CR123A battery. It is Grade 2.
Who Dartel installs it for
We install it in the living room, the hallway or the unavoidable route through a flat, a house or a shop with light walls, where the white body almost disappears. If the walls or the joinery are dark, there is the black MotionProtect with the same specifications. Where a normal PIR gives false alarms, the variant is the MotionProtect Plus, black; and if you want to receive photos, the MotionCam HDR.
How we install it
We hang it at 2.4 m, the height Ajax specifies, on its mount and looking across the route someone has to take to enter, never straight at a window, a fireplace or a radiator. We add it by scanning its QR code in the app, assign it to its arming group and, before leaving, walk the room to check the detection zone and measure the signal with the panel.

Frequently asked questions
Will it go off with my dog?
It has immunity to pets up to 20 kg and 50 cm tall, so a dog of that size should not set it off. If yours climbs on furniture or stairs, we assess it when positioning the detector and adjust the sensitivity.
Does it alert if someone covers it?
No: this model has no anti-masking. It does have a tamper, which triggers if the casing is opened, and alarm, tamper and signal LEDs. That is why we fit it with a clear view, with no furniture in front.
