What it is and what it does
The white Ajax 16-channel PoE NVR recorder has 16 PoE ports: each camera receives data and power over a single network cable to the unit. It records ONVIF and RTSP cameras up to 12 MP, on a schedule or on motion, and outputs video over HDMI up to 3840 × 2160. It takes two 3.5 inch SATA disks of up to 16 TB each, not included.
Who Dartel installs it for
It is for an installation with many cameras, such as a large villa, a residents' community or a business with several areas, where saving sockets and power points at every position matters. It is not the unit for a house with two or three cameras. It differs from the Superior model in that it does not include artificial intelligence object detection.
How we install it
It is an indoor unit that goes somewhere ventilated, with a socket and preferably hidden, because whoever takes the recorder takes the recordings. We run one network cable per camera to its PoE ports, fit the disks and add it to the Ajax app so you can see the cameras on your phone.

Are the cameras powered by the recorder itself?
Yes. It has 16 PoE ports, so each camera needs only one network cable to the recorder. That saves looking for a socket at every position.
What does it lack compared with the Superior model?
Artificial intelligence object detection, which the Superior has. It covers the same 16 cameras, and it accepts non-Ajax cameras through ONVIF or RTSP.
