TurretCam 8 MP camera, black

Black 8 MP TurretCam for indoors and outdoors: enough detail to recognise a face at the entrance, and discreet on dark surfaces

What it is and what it does

The black TurretCam 8 MP is an 8 megapixel (3840×2160) IP camera with fixed 2.8 mm optics and a 100° to 110° field. The infrared reaches 50 m and True WDR/HDR stops a door with sun head-on from coming out washed out. It has a built-in microphone, artificial intelligence, mTLS encryption and a microSD slot of up to 256 GB. It is IP65 and works from −25 °C to +40 °C.

Who Dartel installs it for

We mount it in industrial units, garages and covered porches, on a metal structure, wood or a dark ceiling where it is barely distinguishable. It serves to watch the door, the gate or an access at a short distance. On a light façade, the white TurretCam 8 MP. If you prefer white light at night, the black TurretCam 8 MP Dual Light, and the 5 MP one is enough for general use.

How we install it

We run a PoE network cable from the recorder or the switch to the camera, so there is no socket at the mount. We hang it on a firm point, at a height that prevents it being reached but leaves the face in view, facing away from the sun head-on. Then we add it by QR code in the app and adjust framing and recording.

Frequently asked questions

Can it cover a whole garden?

That is not its best use. With 2.8 mm the shot is wide and at long distance the face takes up few pixels. It works better pointing at a specific access, such as the door or the gate.

Do I need a network cable to each camera?

Yes, one run per camera to the recorder or the switch. The video travels along it and so does the power, so no electrical socket is needed next to the camera.

Would you like us to install it?

Tell us what kind of home or premises it is and we will say what you need and what you don't. For a flat or a shop with no building work, your floor plan and four photos are enough.
